A strong, bold beast characterized as a protector- a preserver. In Chinese culture the tiger was the king of all animals and 'Lord of the mountains'. The Tiger Jade, an ornament which was closely associated with the White Tiger, was specially reserved for commanders of armies, rulers, and those in power. The White Tiger, among other things, was the God of War.
